California’s continued investment in renewable energy means solar installations are becoming a familiar part of the landscape—from commercial facilities and large properties to expansive renewable energy projects. While the finished solar array is above ground, much of the work required to build and connect it happens below the surface.
Trenching for electrical conduit, installing foundations or supports, upgrading electrical infrastructure, and creating connections between equipment can all require ground disturbance. Before that work begins, contractors need to know what already occupies the space underground.
