Our Process

How it Works

Our simplified six-step process

Starting with an initial inquiry and finishing with a happy customer requires a well-defined process. With only six steps, our process is both simple and effective. Here is how it works.

01

Step 1

We Talk

The first thing we do is talk with you about your project. In a few short minutes, we’ll get a real good handle on your goals for the project and discuss how we will help you to accomplish them. We’ll also determine any special requirements needed such as coordinating with other project managers for scheduling special time slots for their work to be performed.

02

Step 2

Define Scope of Work

Not every project is large and complicated, but every project needs to be done right. Defining the Scope of Work (SOW) sets the stage for a successful project outcome. To do so, it is critical that we have access to as much available data about the project as possible. This includes “as-built” maps of the utilities in your project area and any other pertinent information that will help us determine what we need to do.

03

Step 3

Estimate Project

With all pertinent information about the project in hand, we will provide you with a written estimate of our services. The estimate will be based on the size and complexity of the project and will be emailed to you for approval. Of course, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the services to be rendered and their costs. It is important that everyone understands what we are setting out to do.

If requested, upon completion of the project, we can produce a PDF report of the survey, the cost of which will be included on the estimate.

04

Step 4

Get Approval/Schedule Work

After the estimate is approved and signed, we will coordinate with you to schedule a day and time for the survey. We will need the contact information for the site supervisor and/or property manager.

If your project has both public and private utilities in the survey area, a Dig Alert ticket must be scheduled prior to the scheduled start of our service.

05

Step 5

Perform Jobsite Survey

Once on site, our technician will determine the best methods and techniques to use for locating items in the survey area. We come armed with all the equipment and tools necessary to ensure that all underground items will be identified.

We will locate and mark the items we find per American Public Works Association (APWA) uniform color code with either paint, flags, whiskers or a combination of all three depending on the conditions.

After completing the survey, we will walk the area with you to explain what was found and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also take pictures for the survey report if one was requested.

Step 6

Generate Report/Send Invoice

Not all jobs require or request a survey report. If one was requested, we will generate the report within 24 hours and email it to you along with an invoice for our services.

To make payment easy, you have the option to pay by credit card online via secure link, or by mailing a check.
