Making sure that utilities do not get damaged on a construction site is a group effort. The more everyone knows about what utilities are in an area, the better the odds for success on your project.
With miles of largely unseen snaking pipes, wires, and roads on campus, the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), created a unique underground utility management system to map its electric, natural gas, domestic water, reclaimed water, chilled water, seawater, sewer, and storm lines.
